About Me
This page is dedicated to learning about me, who I am, what drew me to teaching, and some my experiences.
My Background
I grew up on a farm in Southwestern Manitoba with my parents and sister. I attended a K-12 school in the nearby small town where I graduated with 20 other classmates. I currently live with my boyfriend on a farm around fifteen minutes from my hometown.

Why Teaching?
I have always had the in-cling that I have wanted to be a teacher but I was not always 100% sure that it was my calling. As I went through middle and high school it began to become clearer that I had a strong passion in both education and helping others. This was when I knew teaching was the job for me. I love to learn and I love to help others learn. When I think of having my own classroom and getting the opportunity to influence young minds, I get excited. This is why I know that teaching is the career for me!

My Experiences
I have had many experiences that will aid me going forward into my teaching career. I have worked as a coordinator for a summer kids program through my local library where I had to come up with age appropriate activities that would suit children aged 5-12. I have also worked at a local daycare for the where I had to provide activities and attend to the needs of children. Both of these jobs will aid me in my teaching career in planning activities for a wide range of abilities. I have also recently began tutoring a high school student in math. This will help my career in that I have learned different ways to present material to different kinds of learners, what works for me does not work for everyone.
